“It is not you who chose me, but I who chose you.” John 15:16
Mission
The Ministry of Pilgrimages is a means for the faithful to travel and offer prayer, acts of charity, and solidarity with the universal church.
God touches our lives in many ways, but when we seek Him with fervor, we are making an eternal investment which will have everlasting rewards. A pilgrimage is such an investment which will everlasting reward. A pilgrimage is a calling and the response is from the heart and mind. It is with this in mind that pilgrims traveling on pilgrimages build up the body of Christ through prayer, through the participation in daily Mass, various devotions as well as visiting with the local church.
Pilgrimages have spiritual, mental, physical and social by offering the following:
• Opportunity for deeper insights in our relationship with God.
• Opportunity to experience the Holy Sites by spending time in prayer and guided meditations
• Discovery of the history of the Church
• Cultural experiences
• Encounter the ‘living stones’ (the local Church communities) Benefits
• Pilgrimages are kept at 30-35 so the individual on the pilgrimage can have the maximum experience.
• Individuals, families, communities.
• Parish Communities (representation, prayers petitions, presentations)
• Universal Church (prayer support, education)
• The local church benefits from prayer and through pilgrims' donations.
